Interrogatives, also known as question words are important and is easy with practice. Today we looked at five interrogatives using sign language and Cree. Use the tone of voice you would use with a regular question.

1. kîkway – What? keee-kway

2. awina – Who?

ah – wih - nah

3. tânêhki – Why?

tah – neee - kih

4. tântê – Where? tan - tee

5. tânispîhk – When? tani – speek

I suggest you say these five times in a row twice a day, start with video, then try to memorize on your own until you remember. Then you can begin using with speakers to have an understanding of the contexts they can be used in.

(Next Week I will blog about the Cree sound system)
